St George's Church, Dittisham

St George's Church Dittisham is at the heart of village life.  The church community is by and large very much involved in the day to day running of things and two lay members lead monthly family/village worship services.
A small but enthusiastic choir lifts the singing for all the congregation.  The village's resident population of approximately 370 is swelled by visitors during the summer adding to our numbers.

The building is Grade 1 listed with a carved and decorated Rood Screen, the altar has recently been
re-ordered and new heating and lighting systems installed.  There are plans to look at improvements to the seating to make the space more flexible for larger gatherings.

Our Easter Day, Remembrance Day, Carol and Christmas Day services are all particularly well attended, a central part of village life for both regulars and non church-goers.

The Parish Sung Eucharist takes place on the first, third and fourth Sunday of the month at 9.15am, the second Sunday is lay-led Village Worship.  A midweek communion is held once a month.

Full details of all services are available here and the activities which take place here .
