Dartmouth is
situated on the
banks of the
beautiful River
Dart, a splendid
natural harbour. The
Mouth of the River
was first recorded
in the Anglo-Saxon
Chronicle as a
"Haven and a Landing
Place"

The dedication of
two Dartmouth
Churches to St.
Clement and St.
Petrox, may be an
indication of even
earlier maritime
links with Brittany;
where the same
Martyr Saints had a
large following.
The Parish serves
the whole town of
Dartmouth, which is
a mixed community of
approximately 6000
people. Our three
Anglican churches
work together to
preach the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, to
provide pastoral
care and to call
people to the
worship of Almighty
God. The Parish
contributes to the
life of the town in
any way it can;
including making its
buildings available
for town events,
such as Concerts and
Craft Festivals, and
those attached to
the famous Dartmouth
Music Festival, and
the Port of
Dartmouth Royal
Regatta.
Great attention is
given to the Worship
of our Parish. We
seek to make it both
accessible to all,
and challenging.
Common Worship and
the Book of Common
Prayer are used. The
pattern of services
is designed to
encourage the Parish
to grow together, to
make the best use of
resources and to
preserve the local
character and
identity of our
three Churches.
